The equipment of a hotel determines its popularity and tourist attractiveness
To ensure that hotel guests enjoy their stay and want to return again, it is necessary to have comprehensive hotel equipment with everything needed for their service. Hotel and boarding house guests need to be regularly and well fed, the bed linen in their rooms must be regularly changed and washed, and they should have access to various forms of entertainment. Therefore, hotels must have refrigerators and microwave ovens, washing machines and dishwashers, satellite television, the internet, and much more.
Under the roof of one hotel, many specialists of various profiles work – cooks, maids, security guards, managers, and others. Some services provided to clients require cooperation among several employees and, consequently, proper coordination of their actions to ensure that all client issues are resolved promptly.
Some hotel professions do not require high qualifications from employees. Therefore, many foreign hotels employ immigrants from developing countries working as cleaners, dishwashers, etc. Those hotel employees who directly interact with clients must be able to find common ground with a wide variety of people – poor and rich, balanced and hot-tempered, sober and drunk, light-skinned and dark-skinned.
The operation of prestigious hotels is a continuous production; hotels work around the clock and year-round. The working day of managers is not standardized and features a high proportion of telephone and verbal contacts. Hotel managers must be able to manage not only their subordinates but also their guests.
