An apostille is a special stamp that certifies an official document for use abroad without additional legalization. An apostille is affixed to documents in the country where they were issued. In Russia, the affixing of an apostille on notarized copies of documents is carried out by the judicial authorities of the Russian Federation.
This procedure has an undeniable advantage: the apostille used for official legalization allows the document to acquire legal force in all countries that have acceded to the Hague Convention.
