The Importance of Sports Nutrition for Athletes

Traditional food products provide no more than 6000 kcal (there is a threshold for their absorption). At the same time, in some sports, the daily energy expenditure of an athlete is 8000–10000 kcal. By using specialized products, it is possible to achieve not only an increase in strength indicators and accelerated muscle growth but also strengthening and rapid recovery after injuries of the musculoskeletal system, weight loss, increased speed or adaptive capabilities, enhanced endurance, psychological stability, and more.

Today, sports nutritional supplements are usually divided into several main groups.

Proteins. Concentrates consisting of easily digestible proteins of animal or plant origin with the addition of carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals (or without additives). They are produced in the form of powders, tablets, capsules, liquid concentrates. They serve as a source of energy in anaerobic training mode, prevent catabolism, and are a "building material" for muscle tissues.

Vitamins. A special group of nutritional preparations of various chemical origins, which, not being a building material, perform regulatory functions of all chemical transformations in the body that affect vital activity. They are produced in various combinations, both as individual vitamins and as vitamin-mineral complexes in the form of tablets, capsules, liquid concentrates.

Amino acids. Products of protein breakdown. Depending on the composition, they perform a number of anabolic functions in the body: increasing strength and energy, building tissues, enhancing secretory functions of the body, and much more. They are produced in the form of liquid concentrates, tablets, or capsules, less often in the form of powders. It is important to study the effect of such drugs on the body in advance to know how to use Pharmamix and other anabolic steroids without harm to the body.

Energy preparations. Carbohydrate and carbohydrate-protein hypotonic drinks with vitamins and minerals (or without them) that provide energy support during intense work. This group includes preparations from creatine, ribose, unsaturated fatty acids, as well as preparations containing caffeine, tannins, and other substances that stimulate the release of previously stored energy.

Minerals. Micro- and macroelements in pure form (or their organic salts). They perform regulatory or plastic (building) functions in the body, stimulating secretory activity and gas exchange.

Fat-burning (ergogenic) preparations. Complex preparations containing activators of fat metabolism (exchange), designed to reduce weight and block new fat deposits.

Special sports supplements. They improve oxygen exchange, increase endurance, resistance (stability) of the immune system to adverse environmental conditions, mobilize the central nervous system, which manifests itself in increased attention and concentration, strengthen the musculoskeletal system, increase its resistance to injury, etc.
