The Monument Non Violence ("No to Violence") on Sergelgatan Street in central Stockholm
On December 8, 1980, the whole world was shocked by the murder in New York of the famous musician John Lennon. The killer (Mark David Chapman) shot him with a revolver. In memory of John Lennon, two dozen revolvers with knotted barrels were cast and installed in different cities around the world.
One of the copies of the famous monument is installed in New York
One of them stands in Stockholm (sculptor – Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd). And the creation of this series of monuments is funded by the "Non-Violence Foundation", headed by Mark Nobel, a descendant of the legendary Alfred Nobel.
In Sweden, there are several such sculptures at once.
