Exquisite in-flight meals helped Emirates Airline enter the top three in the ranking of the best airlines for gourmets.
First place was taken by Air New Zealand, whose menu is developed by a chef and two wine consultants. Dishes in business class are presented in a way that allows travelers to taste the national cuisine of the country. Among them are grilled salmon with sumac (local spice), Moorish-style chicken and tomato broth with saffron, white beans and pumpkin hummus with roasted cinnamon. For dessert, they offer white chocolate and panna cotta with pistachio cream.
In second place in the ranking is the Japanese All Nippon Airways, which offers its clients a choice between European and Japanese cuisine. Among the dishes of the latter is slow-cooked local taro root, served with octopus in a pumpkin sauce based on soy. Tourists can also try beef with sesame sauce.
The top three is completed by Emirates Airline. Travelers are offered smoked chicken or beef stewed in coconut milk. For dessert, they serve strawberry cheesecake.
As reported by «Lenta.ru», the top five also includes Etihad Airways (the national airline of the United Arab Emirates) and Korean Air.
