In an explanation sent to the media of the reasons for delays in postal items, Ukrposhta notes that in Ukraine regular checks are conducted on the timeliness of incoming international written correspondence, which have shown that all incoming international mail arriving in Ukraine is processed and forwarded to its destination without violating control deadlines. As Ukrposhta claims, violations of control deadlines occur on the territory of Russia, and "the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Russian Federation acknowledges this fact and is taking measures to eliminate these shortcomings."
The Ukrainian operator also informs that the control deadline for the passage of simple international letters through the territory of Ukraine from the moment they are submitted by senders to the time they arrive at the international mail exchange unit in Kyiv is 2-4 days excluding weekends. To speed up the forwarding of international correspondence, Ukrposhta initiated the creation of an international main auto route Kyiv - Bryansk, which began operating on November 1, 2002, thanks to which written correspondence from Kyiv is sent to Russia daily.
