In these conditions, when there are many computers accumulated in the hands of the population – if not more – there is more work for those engaged in computer service, that is, whose field includes computer repair, installation of licensed software, file recovery, and similar work. This business is gradually beginning to flourish, because you are not going to buy a new computer every day. And downtime, even for a single day, can lead to serious material and moral costs: not finishing urgent work on time, not being able to contact a business partner, no access to valuable information. Urgent computer repair in this situation becomes literally a matter of "life and death" for a person.
Unfortunately, not all players in the computer services market behave correctly in this situation. In addition to companies that conduct their business solidly, honestly, and professionally, various firms and little firms, or even individual "miracle masters," are beginning to appear, who start inventing various "scam schemes" for their clients, where the cost of computer repair may ultimately even exceed its own value. This is nonsense, but such cases are becoming more and more numerous.
One of the "client scam schemes" looks approximately like this. A well-designed website appears on the web, offering emergency computer assistance services. At the same time, a "master's" visit to your home or office may cost mere pennies or be completely free. Upon arrival, the "master," equipped with various devices, begins to diagnose the condition of your computer, and at the same time throws out various terms from which you can understand that the computer has little time left to live and only a radical resuscitation can save it.
Then the computer is taken away, and after a few days of "resuscitation" it is returned to its place. At the same time, the master brings an invoice with "astronomical" sums and demands that you sign a delivery and acceptance agreement. After you, being in a "twilight" state of consciousness, have signed, it will be incredibly difficult to get your money back. After all, claims about quality are one thing, but claims about price are quite another.
