On Brighton Beach: 'Russian-Language Weather'

Wealthy Europeans had forgotten about this place. However, attracted by falling housing prices and the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean, poor Russian emigrants from the USSR began to settle here. There is something strange and at the same time attractive about this ethnic neighborhood of New York, with Russian signs on shops and cafes.
