Perhaps this information will be useful for those who would like to buy an inflatable boat in Kyiv.
PVC products cannot be repaired
This myth is based on the fact that a conventional rubber-fabric boat is easier to repair. But this does not mean that the Bark B-240C boat cannot be repaired at all. Moreover, if the size of the damage does not exceed 50 mm, it can be glued independently using the repair kit that comes with the boat. It includes a piece of PVC and special glue. More serious damage is repaired at service centers.
The higher the density of the material, the stronger the product
In fact, there is no direct relationship. The density of PVC used for making boats varies among different suppliers, but the strength properties are approximately the same. A watercraft made of denser material weighs more. Therefore, when buying a boat, you should pay attention not to the density of the fabric, but to compliance with quality and safety standards.
"PVC in 5 layers"
This is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. In fact, the fabric from which the watercraft is made consists of three layers, two of which are PVC, separated by a cord layer (reinforcement) into a single whole. The resulting material is strong and wear-resistant even without any additional two layers, as the advertisement claims. Chinese no-name products consist of only one layer, without additional reinforcement. The material is cheap, but it cannot be called reliable.
PVC does not withstand low temperatures
Of course, you cannot inflate a boat made of brittle polyvinyl chloride in twenty-degree frost. But this does not mean that inflatable boats can only be used in summer. Practice shows that if you bring the boat to the fishing spot at least half-inflated, no problems will arise. A good option is to store the product ready for use in a shed or garage. In this case, you need to wipe it with a special compound that repels rodents.
A PVC boat is difficult to steer
Steering a PVC boat is no more difficult than any other watercraft. Difficulties arise when the motor breaks down, since rowing with oars is quite difficult. However, this applies to all motorized watercraft. Premature motor failure can be avoided by purchasing a certified product from a specialized store.
