Americans Await the Call

According to him, the call center was created to improve the US visa application process, in particular, to disseminate consular information and schedule interviews. "The US visa application process will become more convenient and accessible to those Ukrainians who do not have Internet access," Taylor said. He noted that the US Embassy in Ukraine is joining US embassies operating in other countries that use the services of such call centers.

According to the consul general, a person planning to obtain a visa must make a nominal payment of $12 at a bank or by credit card, after which they must call the call center, where they will speak with an operator for 8 minutes in Ukrainian, English, or Russian. The operators will answer questions about visa applications and schedule visa interviews at the consular section. The consul general assured that if a person calling the call center cannot finish within 8 minutes, the conversation can be continued without additional payment.

Recall that recently the US consulate had already changed the procedure for applying for a US visa. Starting November 1, 2006, all those scheduled for a visa interview had to fill out an electronic visa application (EVAF) in English on the Internet. Starting March 22, visa interview appointments will be made exclusively through the call center.

• It should be noted that call center services have recently become increasingly popular. And the already familiar telephone number 8 800 is used by many travel agencies in their business. After all, with the help of a call center, you can organize a booking service, an information desk, or a useful information service.
