The state borders Minnesota to the west, Iowa to the southwest, Illinois to the south, Lake Michigan to the east, the state of Michigan to the northeast, and Lake Superior to the north. Every July, under the auspices of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh aviation gathering takes place. During the week, the town of Oshkosh is visited by 500,000 spectators. About 10,000 aircraft take to the sky. You can watch daredevils perform aerobatic maneuvers and admire the flying aircraft—both old and the most modern military ones.

Brainchild of a legendary architect
Architect Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959), a native of Wisconsin, gained worldwide fame for designing 'organic' buildings that harmonize with the environment. One of his most spectacular projects is the Taliesin East house in Spring Green. Take tours of this and nearby houses.

Motorcycle enthusiasts simply must visit the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee. It is very popular with tourists. Its exhibition tells the history of motorcycles of this famous brand: more than 450 classic motorcycles are on display, including one that belonged to Elvis Presley.

Contemporary Art
Be sure to also visit the Milwaukee Art Museum, whose building on the lakeshore is itself an architectural masterpiece. The museum's collection is impressive, including 35,000 works of art from various eras, from antiquity to the present day. The works are displayed in a futuristic structure, whose mechanical 'wings' fold and unfold twice a day.

Blooming Garden
In Madison, the Olbrich Botanical Gardens spread over 6.4 hectares. Plants are planted both outdoors and in a tropical conservatory, where birds fly freely and there is even a waterfall. The 'Thai Pavilion', a gift from the government of Thailand, is extraordinarily beautiful and is the only such structure in the continental United States.

The Wisconsin Concrete Sculpture Park in the town of Phillips features over 200 statues made and decorated by folk artists. Self-taught sculptor Fred Smith created sculptural compositions of people and animals.
