Individuals who have applied for the Diversity Visa Lottery can check the status of their application on the E-DV website www.dviottery.state.gov\/ESC\/. This is the only way to find out if you won the lottery, receive instructions on further processing of your application, and learn the date and time of your scheduled immigrant visa interview.<\/p>\n
Do not trust phone calls, emails, or letters from third parties. Do not trust any other websites that pose as intermediaries of the U.S. government. If you are being convinced that:
– the agency conducts the lottery as an intermediary,
– or the agency has certain privileges at the Embassy of the United States of America,
– or you must pay to enter the lottery,
– or you are required to sign any contracts for consulting services, according to which you must pay a large sum of money (from $6,000 to $20,000) in the event of your win –

The only fee for applying for a visa is paid during the visa interview at the consular section and is $330 per applicant.<\/p>\n
If you receive an email stating that your application for the DV lottery has been selected, and that to continue processing your case, you need to send money to a person named in the message who works at the U.S. Embassy, you may become a victim of fraud.<\/p>\n
Only the U.S. Department of State website www.dviottery.state.gov contains notifications of winning the DV lottery. No other organization or private company is authorized by the State Department to inform lottery participants about winning or about the next steps in the visa process.<\/p>\n
Participation in the lottery is free – you should not pay anyone to apply. The U.S. Embassy does not cooperate with any intermediaries, nor does it require the use of agencies to participate in the Green Card lottery program. Avoid individuals who offer 'assistance' in registration and obtaining an immigrant visa. Visa fraud is a criminal offense under U.S. law. Do not become a victim or an accomplice to a crime!<\/p>\n
You will be disqualified from participating in the Green Card lottery if you:<\/p>\n
– enter into a fictitious marriage for immigration purposes;
