At the end of June, 900 people aged 20 to 40 who had applied for asylum in Sweden were registered at the Stockholm office of the migration agency. These are former Soviet citizens, most often from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Of them, 36% have been entered into the Swedish police register. This means that they have either already been convicted of crimes committed in Sweden or are under investigation.
According to the Crime Prevention Council, the selection of material for analysis cannot be called objective because, firstly, only one age group, which usually has a predominance of criminal elements, was subjected to it, and secondly, the total number includes both suspects and already convicted criminals.
As a rule, reports DELFI, Sweden does not grant political asylum to people from the former USSR, and those registered with the police have no chance at all. Most often, after being registered with the police, their cases are closed and they themselves are deported from Sweden.
