– Tell me, have your services been in demand recently from citizens of Russia and Ukraine?
– Yes, and the number of people wishing to move to Slovakia for permanent residence is steadily growing every year. This is due to many reasons: both the ongoing recession in the economy of Russia and Ukraine, and the very attractive conditions for doing business in Slovakia. For example, there is a zero tax rate on dividends.
– There is a rumor online that now to apply for a Slovak temporary residence permit you need an interview at the consulate of that country. Is this really the case?
– That is incorrect information, the law has not changed. It's just that the police of Bratislava and Trnava (as well as some other cities) started doing this because of the flow of migrants, since according to the law they can request any information from you. We submit an application for business immigration to Slovakia exclusively within the territory of this country, bypassing consulates, because there is a high risk of refusal with a reason such as that your business is not of interest to Slovakia.
– On what basis is it better to obtain a business temporary residence permit in Slovakia – through registering as a sole proprietor (individual entrepreneur), or through opening a company? There is an opinion that a sole proprietorship is cheaper. Is that so?
– That is incorrect information. Yes, the amount of taxes for renewal as a sole proprietor for a year is only 600 euros compared to 3300 for a company. But do not forget that starting from the second year (even before the renewal of the temporary residence permit), you will be required to pay social security and health insurance, which is about 240 euros per month, totaling 2900 euros per year. Add the 600 euro tax to this and you get an amount even larger than what you need to pay for a company. Moreover, with a company you can take on a founder, giving them a temporary residence permit, dividing the burden. There are many other disadvantages of opening a temporary residence permit in Slovakia through self-employment: difficulty in obtaining a mortgage, risk of non-renewal of the temporary residence permit. After all, Slovaks see you, if you are a self-employed person, as someone taking bread from locals, while company owners are seen as people creating jobs.
– There is an opinion that for many wealthy Russians, Slovakia is just a 'backup airfield' and, while obtaining a temporary residence permit, they remain in their homeland. Is that true?
– Indeed, such a trend existed until 2014, but now there is a very large number of Russians and Ukrainians moving to Slovakia, obtaining temporary residence permits through opening a company with the help of our company. This is primarily due to favorable economic conditions in Slovakia and good attitudes of the local population towards foreigners. Most Ukrainians, on the other hand, immediately move to live, having obtained a Slovak business temporary residence permit through our company.
– Do you provide post-immigration support – finding housing, accounting services for companies that were opened with the help of your company?
– Yes, of course, moreover – at the most affordable prices. For example, a month of turnkey accounting services in our company costs only 100 euros.
– Tell me, are there many documents required to start the process of obtaining a temporary residence permit in Slovakia through opening a company?
– Not many at all, just a certificate of no criminal record and your great desire.
– And what are the conditions for renewing a business temporary residence permit in Slovakia through opening a company?
– Quite lenient: the company needs to pay about 3300 euros in taxes per year. In addition, I would like to note the fact that you can register up to four founders for the company (for example, your business partners, adult children, etc.), granting all of them a business temporary residence permit.
– Will the amount of taxes increase in this case?
– Absolutely not, it is fixed (minimal), and that is an advantage – only 3300 euros in taxes for five people per year.
– Okay, and for those clients who would like to move to Slovakia for permanent residence but have no experience in running a business, what would you recommend?
