These measures are intended to block Czech immigrants who hope to obtain political refugee status in Britain. According to the British Home Office, the asylum applications of Czech Roma are unfounded.
According to Radio Prague, the latest series of checks, as a result of which 306 Roma were refused permission to fly to London, began in August and was cancelled in December last year.
