As reported by Vremya Novostei, these and other results of the poll conducted by the Israeli government and the Joint (American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee) are cited by the Jerusalem Post. The publication also notes that 47% of survey participants named language as the main problem in their integration into Israeli society.
About a quarter of the study participants stated that they had experienced ethnic discrimination, most often in government institutions. 40% of parents with school-age children reported that Russian-speaking students faced discrimination from both teachers and fellow students. 31% of respondents claim that their children suffered physical violence from classmates.
Marina Solodkina, a Knesset member from the ruling Kadima party, commenting on the poll results, noted: "Having changed our country, we have preserved our habits and customs, and often we call discrimination the desire of Israelis to impose their culture and rules on us."
