This opinion was expressed by federal government commissioner Christoph Bergner (CDU) in connection with a conference taking place in Berlin, where the results of the last two decades of this state program are being discussed.
In an interview with the dpa agency, Bergner noted problems in the area of labor and professional integration. In particular, as Deutsche Welle notes, the refusal to recognize diplomas of vocational and higher education closed the path to full integration into German society for many resettlers.
