The Czech Ministry of the Interior counted foreigners living in the country
As reported on its official website by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, the top spots among foreigners were held by Ukrainians (145,518 people) and Slovaks (121,278). They were followed by citizens of Vietnam (61,952), Russia (38,207), Poland (21,767), Germany (21,487), Bulgaria (17,183), Romania (16,824), Mongolia (9,851), and the United Kingdom (8,332).
Half of the migrants (50.5%) had permanent residence permits. The most common reason for stay (long-term visas and residence permits) was employment.
Last year, the Czech Ministry of the Interior also received 1,921 applications for asylum and international protection. Here, citizens of Armenia (372 applications), Ukraine (311), and Georgia (224) led.
