TOP reasons to sell your car to a car buying service

Everyone sooner or later faces the need to sell their car, for a variety of reasons: urgently need money for education, treatment or other needs; no financial ability to maintain and fuel the car; want to replace an old model with something newer, bigger or more economical; unable to pay off the loan, insurance and high interest; the car was in an accident and there is no money for its repair and restoration.

I also faced such a need, and I immediately decided to sell my Nissan Teana to a car buying service, since the car was after an accident and I had no desire to bother with repairs.

For those who still doubt, I will tell in detail how the buyout of my Nissan went and what advantages this method of selling has.

Disadvantages of selling on your own

Those who have ever tried to sell a car know, and for everyone else I will tell that you can do it in several ways:

Tell friends and acquaintances about the sale. You can even post on Facebook and other social networks that you are selling a car, and perhaps one of your acquaintances will like it, or the post will get many reposts and you will find a buyer through word of mouth. In my case, the chances of selling the car this way were zero, since the car was damaged and required replacement or straightening and painting of two doors on the driver's side.

Go to the car market. If you live in a large city, the car market option is quite good, but for residents of regions it will be unprofitable due to the need to travel to the market, and in case of failure, back a couple of hundred kilometers. Moreover, competition in markets is quite high, entry is paid, and you can successfully sell a car there only in perfect external and technical condition, which also turned out not to be my option.

Place a sales ad on popular specialized websites. On classifieds sites, both whole and damaged cars are offered, as well as uncleared cars and other car junk. However, if whole cars are still occasionally hunted by real buyers, then damaged and high-mileage cars are only taken by resellers who mercilessly bargain and will offer pennies for your car.

If you still decide to take the risk and engage in car selling on your own, you should also prepare for certain costs, both time and financial: Pre-sale preparation (maintenance, washing, dry cleaning); Payment for ad promotion to the top, advertising or entry to the car market; Meetings with potential buyers and regular trips to check the car at a service station, after which bargaining will inevitably follow; Waiting for a potential client for months, especially with an inflated price.

My opinion on this is unequivocal – a car should be an asset, and therefore it should be sold quickly. That is why I settled on a car buying service.

According to promises in advertising, the entire sales process takes no more than one day, including inspection of the vehicle, its evaluation and the transaction itself. And this is a rare case when promises match reality.

TOP 5 reasons to contact a car buying service

Now I will try to briefly tell how I sold my car to a car buying service and what advantages I identified for myself from this process.

1. Efficiency. Within 15 minutes after I submitted an online application with a description of my long-suffering Nissan, a manager called me back and named the preliminary transaction amount. The figure could of course have been higher, but the price was not critically low, about 5%, so we moved to the next stage – inspection and expert evaluation of the car, from which I derived the following advantage.

2. Financial benefit. Both the inspection and the car check at a service station are completely free for the seller. Moreover, you will be offered several locations for the meeting, from which you can choose the nearest one to avoid wasting time and gasoline on traveling around the city. It is also not necessary to specially prepare the car with dry cleaning and maintenance; it will not particularly affect the price, but for decency and a full inspection of the car, I stopped by a car wash before the meeting.

3. Versatility. Unlike direct buyers, a car buying service is ready to pay for cars in any condition, and technical damage is not a problem for such companies – because they cooperate with or own their own service station where they can fix faults and sell the car for more. For my two doors, the amount was reduced by a figure significantly less than what I would have spent on independent repairs, which was an undoubted plus for me.

4. Reliability. The entire transaction is conducted in accordance with the law, with the car being deregistered (well, unless you have agreed on other terms with the company). Moreover, everything is organized so that you don't have to stand in lines, they even give you a money counting machine. Payment, by the way, is instant, which also pleased me.

5. Market price. For my car, I received about 5% less than I could have with independent sale (and that's not certain), which in real money amounted to less than 10,000 hryvnias, but everything was done in one day and without hassle.

If you still doubt, just send an application to the company, asking doesn't cost anything, and for yourself you will understand how convenient and profitable it is. Good luck!
