Air curtains help retain heat inside the room
Modern air curtains are mainly used in large facilities. They are often found in restaurants, shopping centers, stores, commercial and non-commercial workshops, office lobbies, or hotels.
The presented air curtains are divided into several groups depending on their operating principle and can be horizontal, vertical, or built-in. Based on the type of heat source, air curtains are divided into the following groups:
Electric curtains – air in these devices moves through an electric heater. Such units are lightweight, easy and convenient to install and maintain. The disadvantages of electric curtains, according to experts, are high energy consumption and the danger that may arise from an electrical short circuit.
Water curtains – the cheapest option for air curtains, which reduces electricity costs. Water curtains cover a larger area in the room than electric devices, so they are often used for vast spaces in industrial workshops, warehouses, and hangars. The main heating element of these devices is a water heater that does not freeze and operates even with excessive temperature fluctuations.
Thanks to the automatic system, air curtains of this type will last quite a long time, protecting the room without creating drafts. They are economical and easy to operate, as well as pleasant in design. In addition to numerous advantages, it is worth noting that thermal devices are quite difficult to install, as they require connection to the main heating system. In case of breakdown, there may be a risk of water pipe rupture.
There are also gas air curtains. This type of device has recently become widespread in the construction market and is used mainly only when it is impossible to use an electric or water curtain. Considering the characteristic features of a gas device, it is worth noting that it is a good alternative to other types of heating equipment.
This device saves electricity, does not freeze, and allows you to choose any temperature mode. The main disadvantage of such a device is the risk of explosion and gas toxicity if improperly installed.
