Some models have a built-in infrared or USB port for data exchange with a computer or diagnostic devices. This mainly applies to premium class models. Some washing machine models are equipped with protection against voltage surges.
Due to high prices for electricity and water, the market has a fairly wide range of resource-saving equipment that can save up to 50% of electricity and water consumption compared to most models per kilogram of laundry processed. Even a small saving, calculated over the machine's operating time over several years, will allow recouping the cost of a more expensive unit.
