Iconography is a collection of schools or systems depicting holy faces. The Vladimir-Suzdal icon-painting school is nine centuries old. The most famous results of its work are 'The Appearance of the Archangel Michael to Joshua' and 'Savior of the Golden Hair' depicting the Savior. These icons are in the Moscow Dormition Cathedral. When icon painters create icons of Jesus Christ, they must strictly follow all the canons of Orthodoxy. Before starting work, such a master must confess and receive communion, as well as receive a blessing.

An Orthodox person, coming into the world, should see before them the Holy Image, which will be near them until the end of their days. Even on their deathbed, the gaze of the dying stops on the icon, asking the Lord for forgiveness and praying for the salvation of the soul.
Icons painted in the traditions of the Vladimir school can become a consolation for the grieving and praying, mothers and fathers, the elderly and children.
