Travel Tips from MTS

When leaving abroad, contact the subscriber service center to make sure that international roaming service is enabled. To enable international roaming (if you have been an MTS contract subscriber for more than 6 months), it is enough to have a positive balance. Note that unlimited tariffs apply only to calls within the network or to other networks and landline numbers, but only within Ukraine.

It is recommended to make an additional deposit to your account to prevent the number from being disconnected during your trip. Roaming rates are higher than local ones, so calculate the deposit amount based on the planned number of calls and the duration of the trip.

Review and print the list of MTS roaming partners in the country you are traveling to, so that you know which services will be available to you in roaming and choose roaming partners offering more economical rates.

You can also cancel call forwarding to Voice Mail, because when using it in roaming you will pay a double rate: for the incoming call and for forwarding – an outgoing call. You can also set up unconditional call forwarding of incoming calls to a phone in Ukraine for the duration of the trip. In that case, you will use your phone only for outgoing calls.

When abroad, make calls by dialing numbers only in international format.

While roaming, you can send and receive SMS if the network you are registered on supports this service.

Upon returning home from abroad, it is recommended to turn on and register your mobile phone in your home network. This action will restore your home tariff plan and avoid being charged at roaming rates.
