Zaragoza is the fifth largest city in Spain. It was founded by the Romans in the 24th year BC and until 380 it bore the status of the colony "Caesaraugusta", from which the modern name of the city derives.
Like any city in Spain, it has ancient buildings, and archaeological excavations are constantly carried out here.
The Ebro River flows through the entire city, where you can go fishing. Further downstream, it spreads into a wide delta, its waters irrigating all the coastal protected lands.
Zaragoza is an important industrial center of Spain. Various conferences are held here – for example, in 2008 the world exhibition EXPO was held, the main theme of which was the problem of water scarcity on the planet. For such forums, a special complex of buildings was built in Zaragoza, and a funicular was constructed from which you can admire the beautiful architecture of the city from a bird's-eye view.
Prices in Zaragoza's restaurants are quite reasonable, as are those in shops. This city is more suitable for middle-class people and those seeking a quiet, peaceful vacation. And if you want to hide from worldly hustle and bustle or from world fame, you couldn't find a better place.
