Sarah Palin
The premiere of the multi-episode TV film "Game Change" took place in the United States in the spring of this year. Based on the book of the same name by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, the biographical drama is dedicated to the 2008 US presidential election, more precisely, the presidential campaign of Republican candidate John McCain and his running mate, then Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. By the way, Julianne Moore brilliantly embodied the image of the "hockey mom".
It should be noted that the main character of the feature film is not Senator McCain, but the candidate for vice president – the attractive yet somewhat coarse Governor Palin. The creators of the film tell the viewer about Sarah's political career, her unexpected nomination for high office for the majority, and her participation in the tense election race. By making Sarah Palin the key heroine of their story about the past elections, the creators of Game Change did not sin against the truth.
Recalling that election, it becomes clear that Sarah Palin aroused the most emotions among both highbrow American intellectuals and ordinary people. It is no coincidence that the lost election became a launch pad for this lady, from which she literally burst into the US political elite. Numerous scandals and absurd statements by Sarah did not prevent millions of Americans from loving her with all their hearts. Over the past four years, this woman has become almost the most popular political figure. And who remembers John McCain now?
As strange as it may seem, Sarah Palin's own opinion about "Game" is fundamentally different from the positive verdict of American television academy members. It would seem that Mrs. Palin should have looked favorably on the film – after all, the movie became another confirmation of her enormous popularity. But no, Palin called the film another example of "Hollywood lies." At the same time, the politician admitted that... she had not watched the film. However, her dislike of cinema is unlikely to prevent her from winning the election in 2016.
