Yekaterina Yegorova also stated that the assertion that labor migrants in Russia are highly criminalized is a myth. "In the media, there is often a myth that the level of criminalization among migrants is high. In fact, the crime rate among migrants does not exceed 3% of the total crime rate in Russia," said the deputy head of the FMS of Russia.
