Some foreigners work under so-called 'clients', to whom they give a part of their earnings for mediation in job search. As the experience of nonprofit organization workers shows, to whom foreigners often turn in critical situations, the consequences of such 'employment' can be very sad. Situations are not uncommon when an employer does not pay for the time worked or the monthly earnings. Illegal workers have no social or medical insurance, and if caught they face deportation. The fact that illegal workers receive only a meager share of the officially accepted minimum wage and are forced to work overtime without the right to additional rest is clear without further words.
People who are looking for legal work in Czechia, besides many administrative obstacles, also encounter a lack of interest from employers, as well as ignorance of the situation, language and a number of other difficulties. When looking for a job, they could be helped by the offer of vacancies for foreigners on the Internet, on a website developed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. Since July, a new version of the search has been in effect within the integrated portal: the website is now combined with employment centers and every employer declaring a vacancy can mark that this position is also suitable for a foreigner. Such a position automatically goes into the offer of vacancies registered on the website www.praceprocizince.cz, developed within the framework of the project 'Selection of Qualified Foreign Workers'. This project, as we wrote earlier, allows foreigners who have applied for participation in it and met some requirements to obtain a residence permit in Czechia in a short time (detailed information at www.imigracijacz.org). Those who for some reason do not participate in the project can also apply on the website. Any foreigner can view employers' offers and also post their resume on the website, which will be available to employers looking for suitable candidates for certain positions.
To fully use the website (search for resumes or vacancies), you need to register. You can freely manage your registration: delete or change your data, independently regulate the way your resume is published, and also post your job search advertisement, receive responses from employers. Registration and use of all services of the website www.praceprocizince.cz are free.
In addition to searching by sections (profession, location, education, etc.), you can 'filter' only those job offers where they are ready to hire a foreigner or where there is a permit to employ foreign workers. An undeniable advantage of such a job search is that you can look for work while still in your home country.
Explanations on the procedure for obtaining a work permit and work visa are published on the website of the project 'Selection of Qualified Foreign Workers' (www.imigracecz.org) under the rubric 'About Employment'. Information is available in several languages, including Russian and Ukrainian.
A foreigner can also search for work through the database of Employment Centers, which keep records of vacancies throughout the Czech Republic. Vacancies are posted on the bulletin board (//portal.mpsv.cz).
Every foreigner can also use the services of intermediary agencies that have a permit from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The current list of such agencies is published on the above-mentioned website. It should be noted that the agency is not entitled to charge any fee for its services or require the client to make deductions from future salary.
