Recently, polymer-cement coatings have become a priority
The scope of application of industrial floors is very diverse: dairy plants, vegetable bases and warehouses, meat processing plants and many other enterprises. The floor at any enterprise is heavily used and therefore must meet specific requirements. In the food industry, the main problem is the development of various bacteria and microorganisms that can significantly spoil the quality of manufactured products. Here, industrial floors must meet high sanitary and hygienic requirements.
Although universal standards and requirements for floors in the food industry have not yet been adopted in Russia, general requirements still exist: industrial floors in the food industry must be made of impermeable, non-toxic, and easy-to-clean materials. Therefore, there is a rejection of concrete coatings, and polymer-cement coatings become a priority.
At dairy enterprises, industrial floors are also required to be non-toxic, easy to clean, impermeable, and non-absorbent. To meet these requirements, self-leveling floors are most often used at such enterprises, since cleaning such rooms requires a complete absence of floor seams. The floor must also be highly hygienic and withstand fairly large mechanical loads.
It is also important to consider here that not every industrial floor can withstand washing with hot water and high pressure. Therefore, an individual approach to the development of floors for such industries is necessary.
In the meat industry, floors are in the most severe operating conditions, as there is a strong impact of aggressive environments (alkali, acid), fat, mechanical loads associated with the movement of people and transport. At meat factories, self-leveling industrial floors are mainly used, since their physical properties are excellent for various types of industry.
Industrial floors can also be impregnated with various solutions that protect the floor covering from external factors. In warehouses, polymer industrial floors are most often used, which are primarily able to withstand enormous mechanical loads. For hygienic purposes (so that products do not undergo external changes and do not spoil), special coatings are used that prevent the impact of the external environment. Based on this, a necessary condition for obtaining a high-quality floor is the correct choice of the optimal coating.
