Getting the Apartment in Order After Renovations

Getting the apartment in order after renovations will be helped by specialized firms

For many modern people, apartment cleaning is not a particular problem, because in every large city you can use the services of a cleaning company. If you firmly decide to do all the work yourself, be prepared for some difficulties.

The main nuisance for any housewife is stains that appear everywhere: on clothes, furniture, plumbing, tiles. But after renovations, the problem with them is complicated by difficulties in removing them. After all, traces of glue or paint are much harder to remove than juice stains on a child's T-shirt.

Unfortunately, a universal stain remover does not yet exist, but there are several rules that apply to all stains. First, try to remove traces of contaminants as quickly as possible, while they are still fresh. To remove a freshly appeared stain, warm water and a sponge may be enough, but a dried-in, hardened trace of paint or glue will require a lot of cleaning products and your time.

Second, do not rush to use any product that comes to hand, expecting an instant result. First, assess the nature of the surface and the effect of the cleaning composition; it may be that along with the stain, part of the cleaned surface will also be removed. In order not to damage expensive tiles or parquet, try the product first on an unnecessary piece or an invisible part of the coating. Natural remedies such as citric or acetic acid, soda might also be suitable for cleaning.

The most difficult and stubborn to remove are traces of mounting foam. If possible, remove them immediately, otherwise there is a risk of never getting rid of it. From a smooth surface, dried foam can be scraped off, and the residue washed off with a solvent. If the surface is painted, there is a high risk of damaging it. If mounting foam gets on wallpaper or rough tiles, unfortunately, you will have to replace the damaged area.

Oily traces are successfully removed using a solution of copper sulfate or laundry powder beaten into a thick foam. Remove lime with vinegar or citric acid, and stains containing acid respond well to soda.

During major renovations in your own home, you may need facade washing. This procedure will require the use of many cleaning products and special equipment. For such work, it is better to hire specialists who are well versed in the characteristics of surfaces and the technology of cleaning them.
