Before setting off, be sure to check the quality of wheel balancing
The state of imbalance is an abnormally strong vibration of the car while driving. The causes of imbalance can be various factors, but as a rule, the main reason lies in the wheels:
1. incorrect wheel balancing;
2. mismatch of parameters of installed wheels;
3. incorrect wheel installation;
4. incorrect installation or failure of a tire;
5. accumulation of dirt on one part of the wheel due to poor washing.
If the feeling of imbalance occurs only when braking, then most likely the problem is in the brake discs.
The first thing to do when imbalance occurs is to balance the wheels. During balancing, the wheel rotation geometry and the condition of the tires will be checked. As a rule, after balancing, the imbalance disappears. Checking the quality of wheel balancing is very simple: on a straight stretch of road, let go of the steering wheel for 10 seconds; if the car goes straight without deviating to any side, the balancing was done correctly.
If after balancing the imbalance has not disappeared, then you may have serious problems with the mechanisms that drive the wheel, or the wheels are incorrectly selected. If the wheel is installed incorrectly, imbalance can occur due to poor fit of the wheel rim to the drum or brake disc, or incorrect fastening and tightening of the wheel. To visually identify installation flaws, you need to carefully inspect the guide bolts. If you notice clamping washers on them, you can safely complain about the wheel installation.
Less commonly, the wheels or tires simply do not match the car brand and cannot be used on it. This mismatch is usually due to inattention to the size and technical specifications of the wheel. In pursuit of improving the appearance of the car, car owners purchase much larger wheels that do not fit their car, which leads to imbalance.
