This year, Catholic Easter falls on April 1, Orthodox Easter on April 8
On Old Town Square, where the Christmas tree stood in winter, a tall birch tree will be installed and decorated. Colored ribbons will stretch from the top of the tree to the roofs of the market stalls.
The markets will offer visitors various decorations, traditional treats, and other Easter-related goods. Various cultural events will take place at the fairs every day: folk music and dance concerts, children's creative workshops, master classes from artisans, and other activities.
Festive fairs will also operate in other parts of Prague. The publication Vinegret.cz offers a list of the largest ones.
