Getting a Green Card Will Become Easier

As Voice of America reports, under the new rules, officials will be allowed to issue a green card to persons who meet the established requirements but whose applications are delayed in FBI checks for more than 6 months. If during further verification of a person who has already received permanent status, certain problems are identified, they may be deprived of their visa.

Basically, the check is carried out electronically within three months. However, tens of thousands of applications wait for years for review by the FBI, whose employees have to check paper documents in hundreds of storage facilities across the country. As before, all applicants will have their fingerprints checked and their criminal history checked via an Internet search.
