Poles studied the migration sentiments of Ukrainians working in the country
As reported by Polskie Radio, the survey "Worker from Ukraine – between Poland and Germany" was conducted by EWL S.A. and the Institute of East European Studies at the University of Warsaw. According to the survey, despite the high popularity of Poland as a destination for labor migration, 45% of Ukrainians working in this country plan to continue their professional activities in other countries.
Compared to last year's survey, the number of Ukrainians in Poland who consider the possibility of working in Germany increased by 7%. In second place was the Czech Republic, where 13% of Ukrainians working in Poland plan to work. The Czech Republic is followed by Sweden, the Netherlands, and Norway.
More than three-quarters of Ukrainian citizens working in Poland know that Germany plans to open its labor market to residents of non-EU countries in 2020. The understanding of the clear requirements of the German labor market looks somewhat worse – more than half of respondents do not know them.
The authors of the survey also indicated that the biggest obstacle to the relocation of Ukrainian workers from Poland to Germany is the lack of knowledge of the German language.
