If in 1970 every fourth resident of West Germany used homeopathic treatment, now, according to the survey, more than half of the population uses homeopathic remedies. People most often learn about homeopathic preparations from acquaintances, doctors, or pharmacists.
Only 14% of Germans are opponents of homeopathy. The report notes that homeopathic medicines accounted for 7% of all over-the-counter sales in pharmacies last year. They were sold for ?399 million.
Homeopathy is a special method of treating acute and chronic diseases with specially prepared medicines containing very small doses of the original medicinal raw material of natural origin. Homeopathy differs from conventional treatment with pills by a strictly individual approach to the patient and the idea of any disease as a suffering of the whole organism.
