As an example, – sell an apartment, a country house in your city and move to live in Moscow or St. Petersburg, buying suitable housing there. Today, many decide to do so, but in reality it turns out somewhat differently. It would seem, indeed, what could be simpler – get rid of real estate in one city and purchase it in one of the Russian capitals? Only you will need more money.
Significantly more, because you will not buy anything decent for the cost of a house in Gubkin or an apartment in Myshkin in the northern capital – a cottage in St. Petersburg, or an apartment in one of the most expensive districts in the world – in Moscow – will remain out of reach. Currently, the cost of residential real estate in the Russian capitals has grown noticeably and today differs markedly from prices for apartments and houses in other regions of the country.
The real estate market of the northern capital has recently revived significantly, has already risen from its knees after the global crisis and today shows unprecedented demand. Moreover, the most priority direction is the suburban real estate market of St. Petersburg. On average, the price of cottages and country houses increases every year – since the end of the global crisis, the cost of these real estate options has managed to grow by twenty to thirty percent.
In Moscow, the suburban real estate market is also in demand among our compatriots. The cost of this direction is also constantly rising in price, and demand does not dry up, despite the abundance of new and ongoing projects.
But in second place in popularity in both Moscow and St. Petersburg is the secondary real estate market. Here, the cost of apartments and cottages also shows a noticeable increase. Apartments in new buildings are also in demand, of course, but today they are less popular than real estate built five, ten, or fifteen years ago.
Well, if you try to compare the two capital markets with each other, Moscow will undoubtedly be more expensive. However, the difference between them is minimal and practically imperceptible to ordinary buyers. It is noticeable only to market experts.
