AUSTRIA
Exhibition "Jewelry of the Vienna Manufactory", until February 22, Vienna. At the Vienna Karlsplatz Museum, an exhibition is running featuring unique jewelry created between 1903 and 1920 based on designs by popular Viennese artists – Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser, Dagobert Peche, and other authors. These jewels were made by masters of the Vienna Manufactory in single copies and sold through fashion salons. The owner of one such salon was Gustav Klimt's muse Emilie Flöge, whose painted portraits and photographs where she advertises these jewels harmoniously fit into the exhibition space and reflect the spirit and style of the era. This exhibition is prepared in collaboration with the Neue Galerie New York, featuring 40 original jewels and original sketches. On Sundays, admission to the exhibition is free. //www.wienmuseum.at
CASA Exhibition Fair, January 28–31; Creativ Exhibition, January 30 – February 1, Salzburg. At the end of January, the Salzburg Exhibition Center will host two exhibitions dedicated to the latest trends in interior design. The first, CASA, specializes in construction and renovation. Modern finishing materials, textiles, and furniture are the dominant themes. Natural flooring design and modern bedroom design are the main topics this year.
As last year, CASA will run parallel to another popular exhibition, Creativ Salzburg, featuring handmade home interior items, glass and ceramics, stuffed toys, souvenirs. 54th Antiques Fair, January 23 – February 1, Brussels. More than 100 art galleries from Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Monaco, Spain, Switzerland, Israel, and the USA will participate in the 54th Brussels Antiques Fair, traditionally held at the Tour & Taxis exhibition center. Like any fair of this kind, it is good because a unique collection of antiques will be gathered in one place for a short time. For visitor convenience, the exhibition has genre-chronological sections: ancient art, marble and ceramics, Egyptian art, jewelry, silver, antique books and maps, clocks and barometers, medieval sculpture, Eastern art, contemporary art, ceramics, painting, textiles and 20th-century decorative art, art photography. Boat Show, January 9–18, London. The famous London Boat Show will feature the latest models of modern yachts, motorboats and speedboats, as well as spare parts and accessories. Additionally, you can quickly learn navigation, visit the Deck Games interactive zone, a sportswear fashion show, the underwater show "A Mermaid's Tale", a themed photography exhibition, a culinary show, and yachting and diving competitions on January 17 and 18. One exhibit will be the restored after fire historic British tea clipper Cutty Sark. The show will be held at the ExCeL London international exhibition center. London Contemporary Art Fair, January 14–18. For the 21st time this January, the largest contemporary art fair in Great Britain will be held. Over a hundred galleries will present their collections of contemporary painting, sculpture, video, and photography at the Business Design Centre. This year, 27 international art projects will also be presented. Special tours, performances, and discussions on new trends in contemporary art will be organized. International Exhibition "Green Week", January 16–25, Berlin. The famous Berlin Grune Woche has been held since 1924 and is dedicated to new trends in the food industry, agriculture, horticulture, and landscape design. Annually, about 1,600 exhibitors from 52 countries participate. Popular sections include greening and landscape design, the "Bio-Store" where organic food can be purchased, natural cosmetics, as well as fresh meat products, beer and wine, tea and spices. Exhibition "All About the Wedding", January 17–18, Karlsruhe. The wedding exhibition in Karlsruhe, now in its 10th year at the Congress Center, is becoming increasingly popular. The exhibition features not only wedding dresses, suits, shoes, jewelry, and accessories. Here you can see displays of wedding bouquets and cakes, wedding car design projects, choose any wedding tours, visit a cosmetic studio, hair salon, and even select worthy fireworks for the celebration. SPAIN
Exhibition "Picasso's Still Lifes," through March 1, Barcelona. The result of recent art historical research on the genre of still life in Pablo Picasso's work is an exhibition at the Picasso Museum in Barcelona. It features more than 80 works from different museums around the world, created between 1907 and 1933. These are mainly Picasso's famous Cubist still lifes, in which he sought to convey the inner meaning of the object in full, moving away from conventional and traditional forms. Musical instruments become one of Picasso's favorite "heroes" of still lifes, to which a separate part of the exhibition is dedicated.
Parallel to the still life exhibition, the Barcelona Museum will also host an exhibition of Pablo Picasso's erotic engravings, created by the artist at the end of his life, between 1964 and 1970, in winter. These engravings are exhibited in a "lively and direct dialogue" with Japanese shunga erotic engravings from the late 19th century, which influenced Picasso's late engravings. //www.bcn.cat
Exhibition "Star Wars," through March 15, Madrid. This exhibition, already held in Portugal, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Belgium, has reached Madrid, where it will be open at the Arte Canal exhibition center until mid-March. More than 250 exhibits will allow everyone to immerse themselves in the world of George Lucas's famous film epic "Star Wars." These include costumes of the main characters, models of androids C-3PO and R2D2, and nine interactive halls that recreate in minute detail the atmosphere of Tatooine, Naboo, Hoth, and other planets. Visitors can learn about the technologies of creating special effects and even attend a "Jedi school," where after express courses they will be offered to participate in a role-playing game. Exhibition "Caesar Returns to Rome," through May 3, Rome. The Chiostro del Bramante museum, located in the city center near Piazza Navona, recently opened a monographic exhibition that may interest history lovers. The life of Julius Caesar is recreated in this exhibition in a broad cultural context. Visitors can see authentic ancient sculptures and busts, fragments of frescoes, mosaics, ancient coins, jewelry, and other artifacts, as well as interpretations of the Roman emperor's life conflicts in the works of painters and sculptors of the modern era (14th–20th centuries). The exhibition is divided into several thematic sections: "The Personality of Julius Caesar," "Caesar – Politician and Warrior," "Caesar and His Contemporaries," "The Myth of Caesar," and the last part is dedicated to the embodiment of Caesar's image in cinema. Exhibition "Leonardo's Machines," through February 4, Udine. Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) became a symbol and myth of the Italian Renaissance thanks to the universality of his genius. His interests included painting, architecture, music, science, and technology. The family of Florentine masters Tarquini has been reconstructing models of machines and mechanisms based on Leonardo da Vinci's drawings and designs for many years. Thirty such models will be presented at the exhibition at the Teatro S. Giorgio in the Italian city of Udine. It is no coincidence that this exhibition takes place in a theater, because visitors can also attend exhibition-performances where actors in Renaissance costumes will tell about Leonardo's machines and show them in action. //www.cssudine.it

Exhibition of Melchior de Hondecoeter, through March 9, Amsterdam. Contemporaries called the Dutch artist Melchior de Hondecoeter (1636-1695) the "Raphael of Birds." His paintings are presented at the winter exhibition at the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum. The main theme of this artist's works, popular in the 17th century among fans of entertaining painting, became "poultry yards" and luxurious hunting trophies. The popularity of his works was due not only to his virtuosic technique, complex Baroque compositions, and allegorical moralizing subtext, but also to the fact that Hondecoeter depicted rare exotic birds. A perfect addition to this exhibition will be a real "poultry yard" with live birds – many of which were depicted in Melchior de Hondecoeter's paintings. //www.rijksmuseum.nl

11th International Dive Show, January 9-12, Paris. Tireless extreme sports enthusiasts will gather for the 11th time this year at the Porte de Versailles exhibition park, where the popular Paris Dive Show will be held in mid-January. According to the organizers of this exhibition, visitors "will be able to forget for a while about the gray January sky of Paris." The latest equipment for diving and spearfishing will be presented, and professional instructors will conduct master classes for everyone on proper and safe diving and exploration of the underwater world. Demonstrations are the main part of the Paris Dive Show program. This year, a thematic exhibition dedicated to the history of underwater diving will be no less interesting. Exhibition of designer Ron Arad, through March 16, Paris. The Pompidou Center in Paris is famous for being one of the first to hold exhibitions of world-renowned designers. The museum has successfully held exhibitions of "guru of Italian design" Ettore Sottsass, popular French designer and architect Philippe Starck, Charlotte Perriand, and other famous designers. This winter, the Pompidou Center is worth visiting for a retrospective exhibition of Ron Arad, who became famous for his bold experiments with interior materials. His unique furniture design projects, initially produced in small batches, often find continuation in industrial design. Action 'Long Night of Museums', January 16, Basel. At five o'clock in the evening on January 16, free buses will start running along special routes connecting more than 30 museums and other cultural sites, taking all those who wish to participate in the traditional 'Long Night of Museums' event. From six in the evening to two in the morning, you can visit several museums and exhibitions at once. Almost all museums have prepared special programs and tours for this day, details of which can be found on the official website.
