Vysotsky Museum: Touch the Legend!

State Cultural Center-Museum of Vysotsky "Vysotsky House on Taganka"

How to Get There

Admirers of the genius actor's work, having come to the Moscow Taganka Theater, to which he devoted years, will easily find his Center-Museum (SCCM "Vysotsky House on Taganka") – it is on the same street as the theater, just a bit to the left. To get there, you need to go to the Taganka metro station (circle line), cross via the underpass to the opposite side (you will come out right at the theater), and walk along the theater to the left. There are signs from the metro itself, and the museum is set back a bit. Time – only 5 minutes on foot.

What Makes the Museum Interesting

Personalities. Moscow is rich in celebrities, but the memory of Vladimir Vysotsky is most carefully preserved in his namesake House. The founder is Nikita Vysotsky, a renowned actor, director, and screenwriter of the reconstruction film "Thank You for Being Alive." Group tours (by appointment) are led by L.V. Abramova, Vladimir Vysotsky's second wife and Nikita's mother.

Exhibits. Exhibitions of other Moscow museums and collections dedicated to Vladimir Vysotsky cannot boast such a rich collection of the legendary man's personal belongings. It is in his namesake House that you can easily feel the special atmosphere of his environment and touch his personality.

Event program. SCCM is not just exhibitions and excursions; it is thematic lectures, performances (it has its own hall), concerts, quizzes, festivals. Also research, publishing activities, and a Charitable Foundation.

Cultural connections. The expansion of the exhibition and educational work are carried out through close cooperation with researchers of Vysotsky's work, eyewitnesses of his performances, admirers of the actor-poet's work, educational institutions, clubs, and libraries.

Reviews from tourists visiting Moscow museums testify to the special spiritual atmosphere of this House, its rich program, and interesting concert and theater events.
