Migrants Change the Composition of US Population

One of the main reasons for the projected changes in the composition of the US population is the high birth rate among immigrant families. The total US population is expected to reach 400 million by 2039 and 439 million by 2050. Earlier, it was assumed that the US population would exceed 400 million only in the second half of the 21st century.

Latinos, who currently make up 15% of the US population, will account for nearly a third by 2042. Researchers also note that the share of those who consider themselves descendants of multiple races should grow significantly. According to Lenta.ru, while currently such people account for 4% of the US population, in 34 years their share should reach 16%.

According to a forecast made by the US Census Bureau in 2004, representatives of the European race were expected to become a minority by 2050.
