Also appearing on the list are 26 restaurants that the Michelin guide awarded one star each. Four of them are newcomers from Scotland. No new three-star restaurants appeared on the list. However, chefs Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal each received three stars. Hélène Darroze, chef of the Connaught, and Angela Hartnett, owner of the new Murano restaurant in Mayfair, each earned a personal star.
According to Travel.ru, three more restaurants were named "rising stars": Tom Aikens and The Ledbury in London and Nathan Outlaw in Cornwall. Editor Derek Bulmer notes that British restaurants have never received so many stars in one year. "More and more restaurants worthy of high praise are appearing across the country. We are also seeing the popularity of informal establishments where they cook excellently without pretension.
