Metaboxes help significantly simplify work with databases
Given the card-based customer service system with database management, many private and public organizations in Europe use specialized furniture for storing information. Cabinets for storing cards are the most popular. Abroad they are called metaboxes, while here the name 'prescription cabinets' has taken hold.
On the domestic market, they are mostly common in pharmacies and hospitals. That is why they are also called pharmacological cabinets. In the West, they are used in the widest range of activities: in medicine, municipalities and police stations, in manufacturing and various workshops.
Pharmacological prescription cabinets make it possible to quickly find required information or materials. For municipalities – these are paper data archives, for pharmacies – necessary medicines, for workshops – spare parts or tools. Metaboxes are cabinets with a modular (by compartments) storage system for pharmaceutical products and medications. All drawers are separated by metal partitions, forming a cellular structure. Each drawer of the cabinet is equipped with a return system for automatic closing. Surely, those who have visited European libraries may have seen such cabinets. The use of metaboxes significantly speeds up work with clients.
In Europe, one-, two-, and three-section prescription cabinets are common. Due to their design features, they can be connected into one common system, forming a wall of cabinets. An example can be some filing databases of police stations. Such cabinets are brought under a single standard. Height should not exceed 2.2 meters, and width no more than 450 mm. Each rack of such drawers supports a weight of 120 kg, which allows storing a fairly large amount of information.
European metaboxes are equipped with a central lock, and the interior is finished with laminate and plexiglass. Cabinets are made in any color scheme. If it is a government institution, the optimal choice in Europe is gray, black, or white. Sometimes diverse color coding of drawers allows to visually structure filing data or tools. In European schools, such cabinets are used for storing equipment.
The presence of metaboxes is mandatory in all pharmacies of Western European countries, since storing medicines in them is, first of all, safe and meets all norms and rules. Moreover, with all pedantry and respect, European pharmacies focus on the variety of drugs offered to clients. The number of drug names in foreign medicine exceeds domestic analogues. With such diversity and sales volumes, there must be systematization, accounting, and storage of drugs, which is actually entrusted to prescription cabinets.
Quite often in car shows we are shown European workshops. In many backgrounds you can see such metaboxes. They are convenient for storing not only tools or spare parts, but also useful technical literature. Metaboxes and prescription cabinets are a trend that recently came from Europe, but now here they are becoming increasingly relevant in many institutions.
