How does furniture making from wood happen? First, you need to find a suitable log that best matches the intended idea in terms of pattern, size, texture, and so on. This log needs to be thoroughly dried, which means it must be left to rest for one and a half to two months (longer is better, of course). After that, you need to level the wooden log. This is done with an electric planer. It needs to be done on both sides.
The next step is sanding the log. You will have to work very hard here, because various splinters and gaps will not only look ugly, but can also cause a lot of inconvenience during use. Simply put, now the log needs to be sanded to complete smoothness.
Now you need to coat the wood with varnish for protection and a beautiful appearance. After that, you need to install the legs. It is better if they are perfectly shaped, unlike the log itself (as the tree grew, so is its shape). Naturally, the manufacturing process is the same, only with shaping. Then – attaching them to brackets using self-tapping screws. In the attachment, you need to pay attention to the weight that the legs will support, in order to install a strong and correct fastening.
What else should be added: if possible, it is better to make furniture from rare wood species, this will add even more uniqueness and individuality, and custom-made furniture, even from rare species, will be much more affordable in price than buying a ready-made item.
