Lexus accelerates towards true supercars

Automaker Lexus knows how to make fast cars. Take, for example, the Lexus IS 250 sports sedan, technical specifications of which are presented on the website of "ViDi Elite," the official dealer of the auto giant. However, as practice shows, Lexus is not going to stop there.

It took about five years to create the LC500 sport coupe. And, as experts say, specialists spent the lion's share of this time developing a new-generation platform with a rear-wheel drive layout. One of the most important tasks during its creation was to lower the center of gravity as much as possible, as well as to optimize weight distribution.

At the moment, the exact weight of the Lexus sports car is not known. However, it has already become known that the sport coupe was designed so that the "pilot" is as close as possible to the center of mass. The fact is that, as Lexus engineers discovered, this ensures an improved, refined "feel of the car."

Next is another novelty – the transmission on the "500th" Lexus. Currently, there is a global trend towards increasing the number of gears, and the super coupe received a latest-generation ten-speed automatic, unlike the same RC F and, in fact, almost all other models!

The Japanese did not experiment with turbocharging and preferred to use a proven naturally aspirated engine on the sports coupe – a 32-valve V8 with five liters. According to preliminary data, on the Lexus LC500 it will develop approximately 467-478 horsepower and 526-531 N*m of torque. Thanks to the ideal duo of the ten-speed automatic and the V8, the coupe can accelerate to a hundred kilometers per hour in less than four and a half seconds.

The automatic transmission has specially developed control electronics that can select the necessary gear at any given moment to most actively navigate corners. This is done by analyzing data based on acceleration, lateral g-forces, and braking. Moreover, the new automatic transmission is lighter and smaller than many modern eight-speed transmissions, including its own.

The interior of the newest "Japanese" car looks quite conservative by the standards of modern sports cars. The exterior of the LC500 clearly traces the features of all those concept cars whose logical culmination it has become. It has a new radiator grille, which has already become a recognizable signature, LED lighting "all around," new rear lights with a pattern specially designed for the Lexus LC500. The picture is completed by an active spoiler and 21-inch alloy wheels.

The start date of sales of the Lexus LC500 and the approximate cost of the car have not yet been announced. If for other models this engine of similar power is the top one, then for the LC500 it should not be the limit! The new model will most likely get a charged modification with the letter F, which will already bear the title of an uncompromising supercar.
