How is the weather forecast made in Ukraine?

It is known that the weather forecast for the year is made based on statistical information that the Central Geophysical Observatory of Ukraine has been collecting for almost 140 years. Based on experience, it is much easier to predict what nature will bring.

Weather forecast in Ukraine is the prerogative of qualified specialists. In total, there are 187 stations in the country with round-the-clock monitoring of changes in indicators. Meteorologists are trained in Odesa and Kyiv – only there are suitable departments. Agronomists can also determine the weather. Specialists work in any conditions – in rain and snow. When making a forecast, verified scientific data are used. Professionals do not believe in folk signs.

Work algorithm

Workers take measurements every three hours. There are eight of them per day. Interestingly, in all corners of the world, the same thing happens simultaneously: station employees go out to record changes in wind direction, pressure changes, or precipitation. The water level in sources is also measured, and agricultural crops are monitored. A mandatory attribute is a barometer. It shows atmospheric changes. After the information is collected in all regions, it is sent to Kyiv.

To obtain accurate data, specialists rely not only on weather indicators but also on signals from Earth satellites, stations in America and the Atlantic, and the Mediterranean. It is necessary to take into account all continents, especially Europe.

Nuances of calculations

A station requires from 5 to 9 people to operate fully. Several decades ago, it was impossible to predict natural phenomena more than three days in advance. Now it is possible to make a forecast for a week. Its accuracy is almost 95%. But there are also mistakes. This depends on the renewal of equipment. Almost all equipment in Ukraine comes from the USSR. With such source data, one cannot count on reliable information.

Weather can also be measured using radiosondes. They are high above the ground, transmitting information twice a day. Meteorologists also rely on a satellite located at the equator. All data is entered into a program and analyzed.
