How the satellite Internet system works

Satellite Internet is available in almost any point of our planet

Satellite Internet has a number of undeniable advantages, the main one being the ability to access the network from any point that the satellite covers, that is, practically anywhere on the globe.

However, this does not mean that the system is completely mobile, like a cell phone. To connect and access the Internet, you will need: a properly installed and well-tuned satellite dish, a laptop or netbook, and an uninterruptible power supply. It is very important that both the satellite dish and the terminal are placed on a flat surface – this way they will be maximally open to the sky and thus to the satellite signal.

Despite the fact that both the antenna and the laptop can run on built-in batteries, it is highly recommended to have an additional backup power source, such as a car battery. As practice shows, with intensive use of satellite Internet, the built-in battery quickly discharges.

In addition, if you have done everything correctly, you will also be able to use satellite cellular communication (if you connect a cell phone to the terminal, which in turn is connected to the laptop), watch satellite TV, and use video conferencing.

Another advantage of satellite Internet is the short installation time for the system. Depending on the location, installation may take a maximum of two weeks. As for the setup and installation of satellite Internet equipment, this process takes no more than three hours.

With all this, the Internet access speeds of a satellite connection are no worse, and in some cases better than a dedicated line, and can reach up to 45 Mbps. Any communication breakdowns are completely ruled out, of course, if you do not move the network equipment. Finally, satellite Internet is completely confidential. It is extremely difficult to intercept transmitted information without authorization.
