A little about batteries
Modern phones are powered by lithium-polymer and lithium-ion batteries. These batteries are much more reliable than their nickel predecessors. On average, they work properly for 500 to 1000 charge/discharge cycles. But do not forget that everything has its own shelf life, and the mobile battery is no exception. For it, this is two to three years. If you have been using your device for a long time or have a used mobile phone, the battery will drain much faster.
Recommendations for use
It is better to fully charge a new battery before use. This will help it last longer in the future. However, doing this later is not necessary. Charging a lithium-ion battery occurs in a combined mode. In the first 60 minutes, it receives up to 80% capacity, and then spends another 40-80 minutes to reach 100%. If you stop charging after half an hour, you will get about 70%, and there will be no negative consequences for the battery.
Do not forget that the battery's favorite temperature is room temperature (approximately +22 degrees Celsius). However, sudden hypothermia or overheating are harmful to it. Do not leave your phone in the sun for long and use it as little as possible in the cold. Your battery will be grateful. By the way, pay attention to whether the battery gets too hot during charging – just check the temperature with your hand. If the phone is hot, the charger may be malfunctioning.
There are situations when a person does not use a mobile phone for a long time. In that case, you need to remove the battery from it and put it in a sealed bag. Note that lithium-ion batteries should not be completely discharged. A 40-50% charge level is ideal for storage.
If a brand new battery quickly loses capacity, it makes sense to calibrate the battery. To do this, you need to fully discharge it, and then fully charge it. Calibration helps the controller more accurately display the remaining battery charge on the screen. However, it is not recommended to do it more than twice a month.
What to do to make the battery last longer?
First, if you are not used to jumping up at night from a mobile call and reading midnight messages, just turn off your phone in the evening. The same applies to situations when you are outside the coverage area. You won't be chatting on your mobile anyway, and the battery drains.
Set a regular ringtone on your phone instead of vibrate mode. The battery consumes too much energy on vibration. The same applies to the use of other functions of the device. Camera, Internet, Bluetooth, radio and flashlight "consume" much more energy than calls and SMS. If you are far from home and there is no way to charge your phone, it is better not to "strain" it unnecessarily.
