A good restaurant is distinguished not only by delicious dishes but also by good table linen
Every restaurant needs a large supply of table linen. Some quality products have their own nuances regarding the type of fabric – for example, there should be a special fabric for tablecloths that adorn the festive table. For items made of unusual fabric, one should contact a specialized company that produces textiles for hotels and restaurants.
The amount of restaurant linen depends on the number of tables served. For example, for twenty square tables for six persons, you will need twenty square tablecloths and, in addition, ten rectangular ones of the same width but greater length. It is not necessary to have tablecloths for six-meter tables. If necessary, such a table can be covered with two square ones.
Sometimes in restaurants, you have to serve a group of clients for which several tables need to be pushed together. In this case, you will also need not one banquet tablecloth but several. The size of the banquet table is confirmed with the head waiter.
In addition, the restaurant may need textiles for catering (for an off-site banquet) as a reserve. For every type of service, you need tablecloths for covering service tables, as well as napkins at the rate of two per seat in the dining room.
For each waiter, at least three hand towels are needed. You can order chair covers that match the interior of the hall. Before serving a banquet, the waiters prepare a paper buffet skirt used for table setting.
For wiping dishes, special napkins or hand towels are needed. Daily filled salt shakers and pepper pots are also wiped with hand towels.
There are certain rules for table setting. For example, the center fold of the tablecloth is well pressed so that it aligns with the axis of the tabletop. If a paper tablecloth is used, this fold should also be visible.
Sanitary regulations prohibit the use of dirty table linen and covering clean linen over dirty linen.
