Works by Vasily Kandinsky will be presented at the exhibition at the Albertina in Vienna

'Egon Schiele: Self-Portraits and Portraits,' February 17 – June 13; 'Dynamics!,' February 10 – May 29, Vienna. In mid-February, two exhibitions will open at the Lower Belvedere in Vienna. The first ('Dynamics!') will be dedicated to the initial stage of the development of kinetic art in the context of related movements in painting and sculpture – Cubism and Constructivism. Visitors will see selected works 'with dynamic plastic effects' by František Kupka, Robert Delaunay, Fernand Léger, Carlo Carrà, Giacomo Balla, created in the 1910s-1920s. And a week later, the 'Orangerie' will open an exhibition of the Austrian Expressionist artist Egon Schiele (1890-1918). It will gather about 100 portraits and self-portraits of the artist, mainly from Viennese museums, but several works by Schiele will be presented for the first time at an exhibition in Austria. //www.belvedere.at
Watercolors and Drawings of the Blue Rider Group, February 4 – May 15, Vienna. The free association of artists 'The Blue Rider' emerged in 1911 in Munich, and the first joint exhibition took place in December of the same year. In 1912, the almanac 'The Blue Rider' was published with theoretical articles by artists, including Vasily Kandinsky's programmatic article 'On the Spiritual in Art,' in which he develops his theory of form and color, the intuitive and emotional value of the work. The exhibition at the Albertina in Vienna will feature works by Vasily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, August Macke, Paul Klee, Marianne von Werefkin, Alfred Kubin, and other artists. //www.albertina.at

'Museums of the 21st Century,' January 29 – April 30, Antwerp. The Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp together with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MHKA) have prepared an international architectural exhibition 'Museums of the 21st Century: Concepts of Building Projects.' The exhibition explores major trends in the modern construction and renovation of museum buildings. Visitors will see 29 projects by world-famous architects such as Tadao Ando, who designed the Suntory Museum, Daniel Libeskind, who uses musical motifs in the architectonics of buildings, Jean Nouvel, whose creative credo became creating 'the right building in the right place,' Renzo Piano, one of the most famous museum architects in the world, as well as design associations ART + COM and Gehry Partners LLP. //www.kmska.be
