The hotel school, located in The Hague, was founded in 1929. After Amsterdam and Rotterdam, The Hague is the third largest city in the country. Over 400,000 people live here. The city is the capital of the province of South Holland. Expanding, the city incorporated the small fishing village of Scheveningen within its borders. Over time, thanks to wisely invested funds in the local tourism industry, this urban district became the most fashionable vacation spot for both locals and the entire Benelux. If you have ever traveled by bus through Europe in the summer and arrived in Amsterdam on the weekend, you could not help but notice huge traffic flows slowly moving north. That is the Benelux making its way to the North Sea beaches.
Since the creation of the first States General, The Hague has been the political capital of the Netherlands. The country's parliament and government, as well as the royal residence, are located here. The city also houses embassies from various countries and the International Court of Justice of the UN.
The school's second campus is located in Amsterdam. The population of the official capital of the Netherlands with its suburbs is about a million people. It is a major port and industrial city, one of the world centers for diamond cutting. Today's Amsterdam is known not only for its rich historical and cultural heritage, but also for its liberal morals. Here, the ancient St. Nicholas Church rises among the red-light district, and on the historic canals you can meet representatives of sexual minorities who, according to national legislation, can marry. And young people from other European countries come to smoke weed in local coffee shops. In short, people come to this glorious city for different reasons – some to see Rembrandt's paintings, others to spend their free time as they wish. But the result is the same – the local hospitality industry does not remain without work, and the numerous hotels, cafes and restaurants do not suffer from a lack of visitors.
Representatives of The Hague School of Hotel Management consider its focus on teaching the basics of business to be its main position on the educational services market. This means that from the very beginning, students are aimed at obtaining a result that corresponds to the current situation. In other words, this approach can be called internationally oriented entrepreneurial education.
In order to meet the main learning objective, students must be able to work in an international team, have good communication skills, be able to receive and process various information, and not be afraid to take responsibility for decisions made.
Training takes place not only at the school itself, but also on the basis of operating hotels under the Skotel brand. Since the school believes that creating a team spirit is one of the priorities of education, it houses all first-year students in these hotels. Living in the same area allows first-year students to get to know each other better, which allows them to work better on joint projects later.

Breda University of Professional Education is a younger institution. It has been teaching students for only forty years, and its activities cover not only hotel management education, but also leisure and tourism, mass media and event management, urban planning, logistics and supply.
The university is located in the south of the Netherlands in the historic city of Breda, 100 km from the Dutch capital. It is a small city with a population of just over 120,000 residents. Balloon festivals are held in Breda every August. Tourists from around the world come to see this colorful spectacle.
The didactic concept of the four-year bachelor's course "Hotel Management" is learning through practice. This means that students have a limited number of lecture hours, and instructors act as coaches. A large number of teaching hours are devoted to independent work or in assigned groups. Theoretical knowledge is tied to real situations related to managing specific areas of hotel operations.
The curriculum is built on developing ten special skills. These include creating one's own work experience in the hotel industry, forming a vision of business development trends, writing functional plans, and participating in the development and implementation of personnel management systems.
CHN University of Professional Education is located in the city of Leeuwarden. It is the capital of Friesland, a northern province of the Netherlands. Leeuwarden is rightfully called a student city. Of the 90,000 urban population, a good quarter are students. For a long time, the city was famous for being the birthplace of Margaretha Geertruida Zelle MacLeod, who went down in history as the spy Mata Hari. But thanks to a sparrow that knocked down part of a huge pyramid made of dominoes, the name of this city recently appeared on all TV channels.
CHN also has its own philosophy for building a bachelor's program in hotel management. It is based on solving problems that arise in the real practice of a hotel enterprise, and is called Problem-Based Learning. According to this concept, students are divided into groups of 10-12 students, who, under the guidance of a teacher, examine specific situations and propose their solutions. If they need additional information during their work, they can use an extensive library, which includes not only books, magazines, newspapers and other printed information, but also a video library and the Internet.
The course of study, including practice, lasts four years, as in the previous universities. Its cost can be up to €6,100. The price of tuition depends on state policy, which currently reimburses one third of the cost. However, it is assumed that foreign students will not be subsidized and will pay the full cost.
In addition to a bachelor's degree, CHN also offers a master's degree. The duration of master's studies in hotel management is one year at a price of €9,500.
