Seasonal decline in construction volumes leads to a drop in cement prices. As a result, gas silicate blocks, the price of which is higher in spring and summer, become cheaper by autumn. This is the time when you should seriously consider stocking up for the next season and buy the necessary amount of aerated concrete.
Starting from February, when factories producing gas silicate blocks have not yet raised prices, the main market drivers are retailers. Construction markets and dealers begin to sign contracts for the upcoming 'construction year,' which creates a certain hype, provoking a gradual increase. Closer to spring, when factory operations are scheduled by the hour, affordable retail can be forgotten altogether. Therefore, the most resourceful and prudent developers gain a significant head start.
Firstly, gas silicate blocks, whose price is already lower than competitors'. Secondly, availability of products in warehouses, which does not cause difficulties in fulfilling obligations. There is still time to catch the low cement price to gain additional advantages. However, storage costs and the guaranteed reduction in the grade strength of the binder based on Portland cement are very difficult to offset, so not everyone is ready to take such a risk. Moreover, if we consider specifically, the cost of cement practically does not affect the construction cost, so there is no need to worry about it. What cellular concrete provides is enough.
Since the price of gas silicate blocks is the main cost component, an economic effect will already occur. By the way, the experience of professional builders can also be adopted by individual builders. Due to the unique physicochemical characteristics of foam blocks, in particular resistance to repeated thawing and freezing, they can be stored directly in the open air. The fact is that the air structure has low hygroscopicity, which prevents the blocks from absorbing moisture. Although additional covering and pallets will not be superfluous.
If this is not possible, improvised means will do. As a platform, you can use ordinary logs nailed together. As for the roof, it will be replaced by thickened polyethylene film (at least 180 microns). Preparation will take just a couple of hours. And after that, we calmly go on a forced vacation, waiting for the sun to warm up and construction to begin.
