There are many ways to fool a person so that they entrust their fate to various horoscopes and rituals, and are constantly busy searching for positive feng shui energies, new meditations, rhythms, techniques, etc.
Not knowing what lies ahead, people naively, like blind kittens, try to find a path to the light. Having heard about tempting prospects, they are ready to join unknown cults alien to our mentality and worldview. We are more willing to blame not ourselves for all troubles, but something external, be it incorrectly arranged furniture or 'wrong' people giving 'wrong' advice, or ecology, or... the list can go on.
Consequently, we think, we just need to eliminate this supposed cause and everything in life will get better. Just use the teachings of feng shui, and money will flow like a river, men will not be scarce or the long-awaited prince will appear, in short, a cloudless life will come. And if it doesn't work? Everything is due to… read the above.
In fact, this is a kind of trap. The path to success is always difficult and requires constant attention and effort. If someone offers a magic pill that can solve all problems, it is worth remembering about free cheese in a mousetrap. Old folk wisdoms will also help, like 'you can't even pull a fish out of the pond without effort'.
'But what if these techniques really work?' – we think. Maybe it is so, and certainly many are helped by them to solve some problems, to understand themselves. But this is more likely treating the symptom, not eliminating the cause. And the causes of all problems are in ourselves. Anything is to blame except our laziness, selfishness, pride, greed, deceit, irresponsibility and complete inability (or unwillingness?) to sort out our lives. We build a house on sand, but should on stone. We think we deserve better, and if something is wrong, we blame a lack of luck.
In fact, we have everything – knowledge, skills, time, and everything needed for happiness. We should not be afraid to look into the dark corner ourselves and see all the dirt there. Open the window and let in light and fresh air, and then our past, present, and future will become clearer! Perhaps we need to finally understand that everything that happens is for our benefit? Maybe we should stop being offended and offending others, forgive all mistakes of loved ones and sort out our own. Stop wasting time and start living a full life. Stop arguing, having empty conversations, watching empty programs, reading unnecessary books, listening to bad music, blindly chasing fashion, deceiving others and ourselves, doing empty 'important' things... And also set a goal for your whole life and go towards it.
And finally I want to add, when someone says they have found the path to happiness and can show you this path, just take a step and follow them, think, maybe they have taken a step into the abyss and, falling, are calling you with them?
